The Wedding Singer

A winsome musical about young love, Eighties pop tunes and big hair!
Why see The Wedding Singer?
Showing that greed isn't always good - even in the 1980s
The Tony nominated Broadway musical that celebrates all things Eighties (big hair, shoulder pads, rolled-up sleeves and synthesizers) heads to Orange County this summer, as it kicks off the 2017/18 musical season at the GEM Theater. Based on the delightful rom-com starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, join the young couple who traverse love and all its pitfalls, while they work together at a restuarant!
Head back to the halcyon days of 1985, where we meet aspiring rocker Robbie Heart, who eeks out a living as a wedding singer in New Jersey, and lives in his grandmother's basement. A talented and popular, albeit emotionally stunted man, he is thrown for a loop when his fiancee leaves him at the altar. Down in the dumps, he is soon blown away by the arrival of Julia, a sweet, beautiful young waitress. There's one snag however; she is engaged to a snooty Wall Street banker who takes her for granted. Can Robbie put on a wedding concert to remember and win her over?
