Why See American Ballet Theatre: The Nutcracker?
A Festive Feast for the Eyes and Ears!
Magical toy soldiers, sparkling fairies, mischievous mice, and all the enchanting inhabitants of E.T.A. Hoffmann's whimsical world descend upon Segerstrom Hall this December for the new Southern California tradition of Alexei Ratmansky's The Nutcracker. Watch as the American Ballet Theatre breathes new life into one of the oldest and greatest Christmas Traditions with America's finest young dancers and budding students from the ABT's own William J. Gillespie School.
What Is The Nutcracker About?
Christmas eve: a time for anticipation, celebration and a whole lot of magic! When the clock strikes midnight, Clara awakes to find her beloved Nutcracker alive and dancing before her very eyes. Together they journey to enchanted lands where they battle the fearsome Mouse King and are granted an audience with the enigmatic Sugar Plum Fairy. It's a treat for the whole family that's not to be missed!
